Nashville is more than just a city. It’s a collection of small worlds, woven together by music, people, and stories.Roughly the same size as Gothenburg, Nashville’s neighborhoods each have their own personality – and they’re all easy to reach.Every part of the city has its own rhythm, its own scent, and its own warmth.

Here’s my personal guide to some of my favorite corners of Music City – places that, together, explain why Nashville keeps feeling like home, again and again.

Downtown & Broadway – Where Everything Always Happens

This is where Nashville starts to beat. The guitars, the neon lights, the crowd, the laughter, and the sound of cowboy boots hitting the sidewalk – everything happens here, all the time.Broadway is chaos, joy, and country all tangled together in a whirlwind of color and sound. You love it even though it’s wild – or maybe because it is.

Favorites:

  • Morgan Wallen’s This Bar & Tennessee Kitchen – loud, legendary, and always packed with energy and live music.

  • Miranda Lambert’s Casa Rosa – I love everything about this place: the stages, the food, and her pink, glittering merch.

  • Robert’s Western World – a true honky-tonk classic with live music from morning to night.

Broadway is Nashville in its purest form – a little too much, a little too loud, but absolutely irresistible.

12South – Cookies, Shopping, and Southern Charm

If Broadway is the pulse, 12South is the heart.Life moves a little slower here. The smell of freshly roasted coffee hangs in the air, dogs lie under café tables, and families share ice cream on the sidewalks. It’s charming, friendly, and full of color – just like Nashville itself. And let’s not forget the shopping!

Favorites:

  • Frothy Monkey – the perfect stop for your morning coffee and a dose of local vibe.

  • Five Daughters Bakery – their “100 Layer Donut” is almost too good to be true.

  • The Filling Station – a must for beer lovers. Stop in for your mid-shopping pint and stay longer than you planned.

12South is Nashville at its most everyday-magical – where no one seems to rush, and everyone has time to smile.

The Gulch – Design, Flavor, and City Vibes with a Southern Soul

Once an industrial zone, now one of Nashville’s most stylish addresses. The Gulch is modern yet warm, luxurious yet grounded. It’s where Nashville dresses up, but never forgets where it came from.

Favorites:

  • Biscuit Love – brunch with a big dose of Southern love on every plate.

  • The 404 Kitchen – incredible food, thoughtful design, and genuine Nashville hospitality.

  • Peg Leg Porker – BBQ, bourbon, and pure, laid-back perfection.

This is where city energy meets Southern heart. The Gulch is the place where everything feels a little elevated, yet completely authentic.

East Nashville – The Creative Soul

Across the river lies Nashville’s bohemian heart. This is where artists, songwriters, and free spirits find their rhythm. It’s colorful, slightly gritty, and full of character. You’ll find hidden music venues, vintage shops, and restaurants that only locals know how to find.

Favorites:

  • The 5 Spot – an iconic little venue with live music every night and a crowd that loves everything real.

  • Dino’s – the city’s oldest burger joint – nothing fancy, just seriously good food.

  • Rosemary & Beauty Queen – my favorite bar, and it deserves its own post. It feels like a house party – effortlessly cool and completely unforgettable.

East Nashville is the city’s free spirit – where creativity lives, and where you always leave with new inspiration (and probably a new favorite band).

Germantown – History, Flavor, and Streets with Soul

Germantown is Nashville at its most elegant – yet still warm and inviting.Old brick houses, narrow streets, and restaurants that perfectly blend history and modern flavor. It’s the kind of neighborhood where you slow down, stay longer, and always eat well.

Favorites:

  • Rolf and Daughters – rustic, modern, and impossible not to love.

  • Butchertown Hall – wood-fired meat, friendly faces, and a relaxed but refined vibe.

  • Monell’s – classic Southern dining with long tables, shared dishes, and huge portions of hospitality.

Germantown is where you want to end your Nashville day – calm, beautiful, and already making you want to come back.
